I support Mark Sandeen for Selectman because he is the only candidate who has the breadth of experience in working with town committees, Town Meeting, and the Board of Selectman. He can be effective from day one. Mark is a smart, articulate and inspiring citizen who works to make Lexington the most fiscally responsible and sustainable town in MA. He has a great track record for facilitating win-win-win projects for our town.
I’ve known Mark for over a decade and have appreciated his in-depth knowledge of energy issues and skill in bringing people together to benefit the community. Mark’s generosity in sharing his business and technical expertise has benefited everyone from hurricane victims in Puerto Rico to science fair students at LHS to the 10,000 town families who have lower electric rates as a result of his negotiations. He’s “data driven” but leads with his heart.
As a former Lexington teacher, I appreciate Mark’s advocacy for maximum air quality to provide a better learning environment for students and staff in the new Hastings school. In addition, Mark’s input on the building design enabled the siting of solar, resulting in future income for the town. Sustainable features such as geothermal heating and battery storage will create further savings while helping to provide a healthier planet for Hastings’ students-to-be, including my 4 year old grandson.
His future and that of all of our children and grandchildren will depend upon the wise decisions our town leaders make today. I’m convinced that Mark’s impressive capacity to research and analyze details and his ability to communicate technical concepts in understandable terms will promote such decisions. We need Mark’s expertise and dedication. I’m hoping that you will join me in voting for Mark Sandeen for Selectman.
