I’ve known Mark Sandeen for years, both from Hancock Church where we are both members, and from working on town affairs. I believe he would be an outstanding selectman, for two reasons.

The first reason is Mark’s vision for Lexington. He has worked tirelessly to promote a livable future for our town. His dedication to combating climate change and improving our quality of life while saving the town hundreds of thousands of dollars in the process, has made us a model for the rest of the state. The Sustainable Lexington Committee he chairs has been instrumental in the town’s adoption of a number of innovative programs. The new Maria Hastings School, a net zero building that will save the town millions of dollars over its lifetime, is a great case in point.

The second reason is his unique skill set. Mark loves people – you know this the first time you talk with him. He cares. Add to that his boundless energy, a keen and curious mind, and fierce devotion to the public good and you can come close to understanding Mark Sandeen. He is great at rallying people to a project or cause and energizing them towards a common goal. He rarely takes no for an answer, working around challenges in creative ways to make something positive happen. I’ve seen him apply these skills time and again to achieve great results.

Mark would be an outstanding selectman, and I urge you to give him your vote on March 4.
