Lexingtonians take note: Mark Sandeen is running for the open seat on the Board of Selectmen. We have known Mark for over ten years and find him to be one of the most extraordinarily talented and dedicated individuals we have ever met! A vote for Mark is a vote for a better Lexington!
In his role as Chair of the Sustainable Lexington Committee, he has tackled many difficult issues and proven his ability to build consensus. Is there any skill more necessary today? The solar arrays at the landfill and municipal buildings now may seem like a no brainer (generating 45% of the Town’s municipal electricity demand and $600,000 a year in new revenue), but there were many opposing views to be addressed and issues to be resolved. Mark did so.
As business owners, we admire Mark’s approach. His vision is broad and covers education, heath, inclusion, civility and sustainability, all tempered by his equally important goal of fiscal responsibility. Mark is the only candidate that has brought in revenue to the town. He has reduced our lifetime municipal electricity cost and has enabled the Town to pursue time-sensitive utility incentives for infrastructure the Town would otherwise have had to pay for. And he has accomplished these things as a volunteer. Imagine if he were a Selectman!
Mark loves Lexington. He wants to bring improvements to the Town that will benefit all members of our community – the young, the old, commercial taxpayers and residential taxpayers. He wants to continue Lexington’s tradition of leading by example. Strategies that he has promoted will ultimately put Lexington in better stead than other communities. Mark your calendar for the March 4 election. Let’s take advantage of this extraordinary opportunity to make Lexington the best it can be!
