As a parent of two children who attended Lexington Public Schools from pre-school through LHS, I know how important an excellent education is for the future of our children. I have seen how beneficial it is that our schools provide the resources and support for students with special needs, for students performing at the highest levels of academic excellence, and for everyone in between. Every child should have fair and equitable access to the education opportunities and training they will need to thrive in our changing world.
I teach several science classes a year at Diamond Middle School and have judged Lexington High School science fairs for many years. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the excitement in a student’s eyes when the spark of a new idea ignites their passion for learning.
The Select Board have the responsibility to ensure that Lexington provides the necessary funding and school buildings to enable the School Committee, our superintendent, her staff, and our teachers to deliver the educational excellence we value so highly here in Lexington. I am committed to maintaining Lexington’s exemplary excellence in education.
